The weather has started changing in the high Himalayan regions of Uttarakhand. High peaks including Badrinath and Hemkund received snowfall. Meanwhile, Chamoli district, Joshimath, Sunil, Auli, and the surrounding areas have been experiencing hailstorms for about half an hour, which has increased the cold. Hailstorms have severely damaged farmers’ crops. Earlier also, in the past afternoon, there was snowfall on the surrounding hills in Char Dham. At the same time, there was a light snowfall in Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham. It was the first snowfall of the season in Badrinath, while Kedarnath received the second snowfall. Due to this the cold in the Dhams has increased.

Light snowfall in Kedarnath: Light snowfall occurred in Kedarnath Dham on Sunday afternoon. The second snowfall of this season fetched the minimum temperature at Dham. The temperature went down to four degrees. Moreover, the maximum temperature was recorded at sixteen degrees. Shivshankar Ling, the chief priest of the Kedarnath temple, said that there was snowfall in Kedarnath around 2 pm on Sunday.
Other than Kedarnath, there was a light snowfall in the hills of Madmaheshwar, Kalishila, and Tungnath. Snowfall intensifies in higher Himalayan regions of Munsiyari: Pithoragarh. The high Himalayan regions of Munsiyari, including Panchachuli, Rajarambha, Hasling, Nanda Devi, Nagni Dhura, received snowfall with rain on Sunday. Munari recorded a maximum temperature of 13 and a minimum temperature of 5 degrees. Apart from this, the district has been cloudy since morning. This also affected the cold in Didihat, Dharchula, Gangolihat, and Berinag.
Second snowfall of the season in Army posts: Indian Army posts along the China border in the High Himalayan regions also received the second snowfall of the season. Snowfall continued in Dung, Bamras, and Old Dung Outposts since morning. White sheets of snow were spread around the posts. The temperature in these outposts has reached minus.
