The police send a letter to the organizers and stated, “There is credible information that several organizations are opposing this stand-up comedy show and it could create chaos and disturb the public peace and harmony, which may lead to law and order problems.”

On the cancellation of his show, Faruqui tweets his response and said, “Nafrat jeeta hai, artist haar gaya. [Hate has triumphed, the artist has lost]. I’m done! Goodbye! Injustice.” Comedian noted that though he has the censor certificate for the show due to the threats the twelve shows have been canceled in the last two months.

Faruki said they have already sold 600+ tickets and got a lot of love from the people for this show. Their main intention was to collect the money from this show and will donate this to the late Puneeth Rajkumar’s Organization. He also said that around 80 people including volunteers, drivers, and guards are dependent on earning from a single show.

“I used to think sometimes that maybe I am wrong, but after what has happened, I have understood that some people are trying to gain political advantage out of this,” the comedian said on tweeter. He signed off from the show and said, “I think this is the end. My name is Munawar Faruqui and that’s been my time. You guys were a wonderful audience. Goodbye. I’m done.”

Faruki spent in jail for more than one month earlier this year as some religious groups accused and complained against him for allegedly being made during the show. But he got the bell after Supreme Court said that there is no proof against him regarding the violence.
