Instagram is rolling out a new feature called Blend, designed to enhance how users share and experience Reels within direct message (DM) conversations. Blend allows users to create a personalized Reels feed directly within their DMs, offering a more intimate and collaborative viewing experience.
Blend functions seamlessly within Instagram DMs, working in both individual and group chats. To start a Blend, a user simply sends an invitation to other members of the chat. Once accepted, the Blend feed comes to life, providing a daily refresh of new Reels tailored to the group’s interests.
Interacting with Reels within a Blend is easy and engaging. Users can send messages and quick reactions directly within the chat, fostering a real-time discussion around the content. Standard public interactions, such as liking, commenting, and sharing, are also available, allowing for broader engagement.
Instagram is also giving users control over the Reels they see in their Blend. By providing feedback on suggested Reels, users can help shape future recommendations, ensuring the feed remains relevant and enjoyable for everyone in the chat.
The Blend feature is currently being rolled out in select countries.
