In a chilling incident echoing the recent gruesome murder case in Meerut, a 32-year-old Haryana-based YouTuber, Ravina, allegedly conspired with her lover, Suresh, to murder her husband, Praveen (35). The motive behind the crime appears to be Praveen’s discovery of their affair and his objections to Ravina’s social media activities, which were also opposed by his family.
The incident unfolded in the Bhiwani district of Haryana, sending shockwaves through the local community and drawing parallels to the horrific Meerut murder case where a wife and her lover killed her husband, chopped his body into pieces, and stuffed them in a drum filled with cement just last month.
According to police reports, Ravina, who has a significant following on Instagram with over 34,000 followers and also runs a YouTube channel, met Suresh, a fellow YouTuber from Hisar, on Instagram approximately one and a half years ago. The two reportedly began collaborating on videos, which led to a romantic relationship.
Praveen, who worked as a driver, and his family strongly disapproved of Ravina’s social media engagement and her growing closeness with Suresh. This led to frequent arguments within the family. Despite the objections, Ravina continued to create content, often featuring Suresh in her videos.
The situation took a tragic turn on March 25 when Praveen allegedly caught Ravina and Suresh in a compromising position at their home in Bhiwani. A heated altercation ensued, following which Ravina and Suresh allegedly strangled Praveen to death using a dupatta (a long scarf).
To cover up their heinous crime, the couple allegedly wrapped Praveen’s body and, in the dead of night, transported it on a motorcycle to a drain on Dinod Road, about six kilometers away from their home, where they dumped it.
When Praveen’s family inquired about his whereabouts, Ravina feigned ignorance. However, their deception was short-lived. Three days later, on March 28, Praveen’s decomposed body was recovered from the drain by the police following a search operation.
Crucially, investigators meticulously reviewed CCTV footage from the areas surrounding the couple’s residence and the location where the body was found. One of the clips captured a suspicious motorcycle journey around 2:30 am on March 26. The footage showed a man wearing a helmet riding the bike, with Ravina on the pillion seat, and a large object, believed to be Praveen’s body, wedged between them. The same bike was seen near the family’s garden shortly before heading towards Dinod Road.
Upon being confronted with the CCTV evidence and after thorough interrogation, Ravina confessed to the murder. She has been arrested and is currently in judicial custody. However, her lover, Suresh, is still absconding, and police are actively searching for him.
The couple had been married since 2017 and had a six-year-old son, Mukul, who is now under the care of his grandfather and uncle.
This shocking incident bears an uncanny resemblance to the recent Meerut murder case, where Muskaan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla murdered Muskaan’s husband, Saurabh Rajput, and then attempted to dispose of his body by chopping it into pieces and concealing them in a cement-filled drum. The reference to the “Meerut-like murder” highlights the disturbing trend of such heinous crimes and the methods employed by the accused.
The opposition from Praveen and his family to Ravina’s social media content and her relationship with Suresh underscores the potential for conflict arising from social media influence on personal relationships and family dynamics. While social media can be a platform for creativity and connection, it can also become a source of tension and, in this tragic case, allegedly led to murder.
