Bhutan confers its highest civilian award on PM Narendra Modi

New Delhi: Friday on the occasion of the country’s 114th National Day Bhutan conferred its highest civilian award Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The head of state of the country, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck pronounced Modi’s. This is Modi’s 10th International award given by various governments.

Lotay Tshering, the Prime Minister of Bhutan said on Twitter, “Overjoyed to hear His Majesty pronounce Your Excellency Modiji’s Narendra Modi name for the highest civilian decoration, Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo.”

The Prime Minister’s Office of Bhutan said on a Facebook post, “HM highlighted all the unconditional friendship and support Modiji extended over the years and particularly during a pandemic. Much deserving! Congratulations from the people of Bhutan. In all interactions, seen Your Excellency as a great, spiritual human being. Looking forward to celebrating the honor in person.”

Modi said in response, “Thank you Lyonchhen @PMBhutan! I am deeply touched by this warm gesture, and express my thanks to His Majesty the King of Bhutan.”

Bhutan’s PM also wished his countrymen as they commemorate their 114th National Day of Bhutan which celebrates the Coronation of His Majesty Druk Gyalpo Ugyen Wangchuck, the First King of Bhutan, on 17th December 1907.

Bhutan government give this honor to Narendra Modi for the much-coveted civilian decoration and highlighted the “unconditional friendship” and support that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, had extended to Bhutan over the years and particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Earlier this year in January month the Himalayan country had received the Covishield vaccine as a gift from India the first consignment of 1.5 lakh doses of the Covishield vaccine. Later Bhutan also gets 400,000 additional doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from India. And for this, the country can prevent the spread of the covid disease.

For the help, Bhutan’s PM has shown his gratitude, thankfulness, and boundless blessings towards the Indian people.

Prime Minister Modi had also traveled to Bhutan to fix a great partnership with the nation from the hydro-power sector, to enhance the trade and linkages in education and space.
