All seven passengers including 58-years-old Tarzan actor Joe Lara and his diet guru wife Gwen Shamblin Lara died in a US plane that crashed in a lake near Nashville. Except for Joe Lara and his wife other people were local. After notifying the family their name has been released by County officials in a news release late Saturday. They are Brandon Hannah, David L. Martin, Jennifer J. Martin, and Jessica Walters, all of Brentwood, Tennessee.
Rutherford County Fire & Rescue(RCFR) told on Facebook that local time at around 11:00 AM, Saturday their small business jet crashed shortly after taking off from the Smyrna, Tennessee airport for Palm Beach of Florida.
The jet went down into 12 miles(19 kilometers) of Percy Priest Lake, south of Nashville. The place is a famous spot for fishing and boating. CNN reported that The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed seven people had been aboard that business jet and everyone is dead. An investigation is undergoing for searching for the exact cause behind the crash.
Joshua Sanders, incident commander captain of RCFR told in a press conference that by Saturday night rescue and search operation is changed into recovery efforts. As per their information, they didn’t get any live victims from the accident spot. So they are now recovering as much as they from the crash site.
On Saturday afternoon, RCFR informed the people on their official page of Facebook that through the recovery operation they had found several components of the airship as well as a human cadaver from the wreckage field about a half-mile wide. The operation will be continued until dusk and resume Monday, as per RCFR.
In 1989, Lara played Tarzan in a television movie “Tarzan in Manhattan”. After that, he starred in the television series “Tarzan: The Epic Adventure” which was too much popular at that time and ran from 1996 to 1997.
Gwen Shamblin Lara, wife of Joe Lara since 2018, was a renowned leader of a Christian weight loss group called Weigh Down Ministries. In 1986 she founded this group and in 1999 this devout lady also founded the Remnant Fellowship Church in Brentwood, Tennessee. Besides, she also wrote a faith-based weight loss book.
According to the statement which one posted on the church’s website, Mrs. Lara was survived by two children from her previous marriage.
