Priyanka Chopra Jonas will receive the inaugural Global Vanguard Honor, a newly established accolade recognizing her unprecedented 25-year career that has successfully bridged Asian Pacific and Western cultures through her remarkable work in both Hindi cinema and Hollywood. Her continuous efforts in elevating underrepresented voices and her expansive global platform have made her a true trailblazer.

Legendary director Ang Lee, known for his visually stunning and emotionally resonant films such as “Life of Pi” and “Brokeback Mountain,” will be inducted into the Gold Legend Honor. This recognition celebrates his groundbreaking contributions to cinema and his lasting impact on the industry. Joining him in this prestigious honor are CEO of The Pokémon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara, along with the beloved character Pikachu, and celebrated author Min Jin Lee (“Pachinko”).

Megan Thee Stallion will be bestowed with the One House Honor, acknowledging her steadfast support and elevation of Asian Pacific culture through her music, fashion collaborations, and appreciation for anime. Her unique artistic expression has resonated with diverse audiences and fostered cross-cultural understanding.

Jon M. Chu, the visionary director behind the groundbreaking film “Crazy Rich Asians” and the upcoming “Wicked” movie adaptation, will receive the A1 in Entertainment and Media. As a co-founder of Gold House and the driving force behind the influential #GoldOpen movement, Chu is celebrated for his pivotal role in championing Asian Pacific representation in Hollywood.

In addition to these luminaries, the Gold Gala will also honor a diverse group of impactful figures, including singer-songwriter Laufey (Billboard Gold Record Honor), Olympians Suni Lee and Lee Kiefer, Paralympian Chuck Aoki (A1 in Sports and Gaming), and the cast and creators of the highly anticipated “Moana 2.” Furthermore, the heroes who have been instrumental in aiding the 2025 Los Angeles Wildfire efforts will also be recognized for their selfless contributions.

The theme of this year’s gala, “First Light,” symbolizes the powerful beams of hope that emerge through adversity. It celebrates those who have been the “first” in their respective fields, not only for their personal achievements but also for paving the way for future generations.

Gold House CEO and co-founder Bing Chen emphasized the significance of the Gold Gala, stating, “The Gold Gala is more than just the biggest Asian Pacific event — it’s a platform for launching the next wave of culture. From honouring Michelle Yeoh for ‘EEAAO’ before her history-making Oscars run to celebrating Cynthia Erivo with Michelle and Jon 1 M Chu before ‘Wicked’ became a public phenomenon, 2 we’re honouring those who have been the first, not just for themselves, but for everyone who’s lit after.”

The evening will also feature a special culinary experience with a Filipino-inspired dinner curated by James Beard Award-winning chef Lord Maynard Llera, the chef behind the acclaimed Los Angeles restaurant Kuya Lord. Additionally, singer Laufey is set to debut a live rendition of her upcoming single, “Silver Lining.”

The Gold Gala serves as a vital platform for recognizing and celebrating the remarkable achievements of Asian Pacific leaders who are shaping culture and driving positive change. The full list of the 2025 A100 honorees is expected to be announced on May 1st.
