Mukesh Khanna, the iconic actor known for his portrayal of Shaktimaan, recently revealed that he rejected an offer from Yash Raj Films (YRF) to acquire the rights to the beloved superhero character. Khanna expressed concerns that YRF would have transformed Shaktimaan into a “disco drama,” a style that he felt would not align with the character’s essence.
Instead of selling the rights, Khanna proposed a collaborative approach with Aditya Chopra, the head of YRF. He suggested that if YRF was interested in making a Shaktimaan movie, they should do it together. Khanna also shared his opinion on potential actors for the role, expressing his admiration for Allu Arjun’s suitability while dismissing Ranveer Singh as an inappropriate choice.
Khanna’s decision to retain control over Shaktimaan’s rights reflects his dedication to preserving the character’s integrity and ensuring that any future adaptations honor its original spirit.
