Brad Pitt has reportedly turned down a multi-million dollar offer to reunite with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie for a movie. Producer Danny Rossner offered the estranged couple around $60 million to star in his film based on real-life hotelier Emmanuel Martinez.
Sources close to Pitt told the Daily Mail that the actor would never consider such an offer. They described the ex-spouses as “bitter enemies” and said that Pitt would not “lower himself to be paid any amount of money to talk to Angie on screen.” The source added that Jolie has “caused him so much heartache” and that he doesn’t even want his inner circle to mention her name.
Another source dismissed Rossner’s offer as a “publicity stunt” and said that it was “not something either side entertained.”
Pitt and Jolie’s divorce has been contentious, with ongoing legal battles over custody of their six children. The couple has also been embroiled in a dispute over their French winery, Château Miraval.
Despite the animosity between the two, Rossner remained optimistic about the possibility of a reunion. He told The Sun that he believes Pitt and Jolie can “put their differences aside” for the sake of his 20-year passion project.
“I think they can put their differences aside for this film,” Rossner said. “They’re both great actors and they have great chemistry together. I think it would be a great film.”
However, it seems unlikely that Pitt will ever agree to work with Jolie again. The actor is currently focused on his own career and is not interested in revisiting the past.
