Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the CTET, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Age: No upper age limit.
Educational Qualification
Paper 1: Senior Secondary (Class 12) with at least 50% marks and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or a Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
Paper 2: Senior Secondary (Class 12) with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subjects and a B.Ed. degree.
CTET Exam Pattern
Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the CTET consist of five sections:
- Child Development and Pedagogy: This section covers topics like child development theories, learning and teaching processes, assessment, and inclusive education.
- Language I: This section tests the candidate’s proficiency in one of the languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.
- Language II: This section tests the candidate’s proficiency in a language other than the one chosen for Language I.
- Mathematics: This section covers topics like number systems, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data handling.
- Environmental Studies: This section covers topics like physical, social, and biological sciences.
