Noida: Within two days the charging station will open for electric vehicles (EVs) in Greater Noida. On Tuesday the officials said that 100 stations are planned for this city.

For building this electric charging station, The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CESL. Authority said, “The first charging station is targeted to be commissioned in the next weeks in the Alpha commercial belt.”

The MoU was signed in the presence of in charge of OSD and commerce cell Naveen Kumar Singh, Additional CEO of GNIDA Deep Chandra, and the officers of CESL.

On Tuesday an official statement has given from the government. They told, “On instructions of GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan, charging stations for electric vehicles are going to be built at 100 places in Greater Noida. For this, the GNIDA has signed an agreement with Convergence Energy Services Limited (a subsidiary of EESL) on Tuesday.”

After setting up the first electric charging station in the Alpha commercial area a survey will conduct jointly with CESL for identifying the remaining locations for EV charging stations, GNIDA said. They also claimed that within ten days the survey report will be submitted.

Greater Noida has joined the campaign National Electric Mobility Scheme. The authority has said they have given much effort to promote electric vehicles all over the country under this scheme. For fulfillment, the need has to concern with the EV charging stations.

GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan has said that these charging stations will give a great advantage to the vehicles’ owners and drivers. Mahua Acharya, MD, and CEO of CESL told that in Asia Greater Noida is now one of the leading industrial cities. The city has now enough convenience to promote electric vehicles.

The number of electric vehicles is now increasing in India in the last couple of years. Both startups and traditional manufactures are bringing their electronic vehicles in two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheeler segments. The nimble of EVs are going fast. But the deficiency of charging stations is creating concern for these vehicles’ owners.

The EV charging station has been set up by many companies. But these efforts are not sufficient to build up the electric transport system in a huge order.
