IPS officer Rajiv Ratan: Telangana bid farewell to a respected figure in its police force, IPS officer Rajiv Ratan, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. Ratan, who served as the Director General of Telangana Vigilance and Enforcement, suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of around 60.

Ratan, a 1991-batch IPS officer, held various prominent positions during his service. These included Superintendent of Police in Karimnagar, Director General of Fire Services, Inspector General for the Hyderabad Region, and Managing Director of the Police Housing Corporation.

One of his most recent assignments was leading a crucial investigation into alleged corruption surrounding the construction of the Medigadda barrage, part of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation scheme.
